Catholic Relief Services has long maintained a presence in Eastern Europe and is on the ground in Ukraine offering care and support amid the hostilities there. This weekend, March 26 - 27, all parishes in Galveston-Houston will be taking up the annual second collection for Catholic Relief Services.
Additionally, on the weekend of April 9 - 10, Palm Sunday, we will take up a second collection for aid to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic church. All proceeds from this collection will be given to the Office of the Major Archbishop of Kyiv for his use in caring for the needs of his flock during this time of war and civil unrest.
Act of Consecration
The Cardinal and Bishop Dell’Oro will make the Act of Consecration of Russia, Ukraine, and all humanity to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Friday, March 25th at 11:00am in the chapel at St. Mary’s Seminary. This will be livestreamed: www.archgh.org/live. The Act will consist of the first decade of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary prayed in common in the chapel, followed by the Prayer of Consecration. Bishop Dell’Oro will make the Consecration in Spanish.
