Be willing to commit the necessary time and energy to offer effective consultation.

St Martha Pastoral Council meets on the third Monday of each month from August through May. The meetings are held in the Parish Office Conference Room starting at 7:00 PM.
Some work is performed by sub teams who collaborate outside of those hours.
Each Pastoral Council meeting begins and ends with a prayer. The minutes from the prior meeting are approved. The pastor gives a report on activities and upcoming plans for the parish. Often ministry leaders or occasionally parish staff give updates on their respective activities with time for questions. Members discuss any feedback they receive from parishioners (usually from the once a month church kiosk duty by council members).
The meeting in May of each year is reserved for the Discernment of new members. For 2025, the Discernment date is Monday, May 19.
