This Lent, almsgiving is your way to become a “Good Samaritan.” As we journey from Ash Wednesday through Holy Week to Easter, we invite you to consider Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as an innkeeper in your Lenten almsgiving. Join our faith community and more than 14,000 Catholic communities across the United States in a life-changing Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl.
Every Lent since 1975, millions of Catholics across the United States have come together through CRS Rice Bowl to support people struggling with hunger and poverty—both at home and around the world. CRS invites Catholics across the U.S. to pray, fast, and give alms through its annual Lenten program, CRS Rice Bowl, which begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5.
While CRS Rice Bowl donations primarily support programs around the world dedicated to ending hunger and poverty, 25% of the funds remain in the diocese where they are collected. As families in the U.S. struggle with rising costs of living, supporting these same efforts here at home remains vitally important.
Change lives this Lent with your donation! Please fill Rice Bowls with cash or a check. Make checks payable to St. Martha Catholic Church (SMCC) and write “CRS Rice Bowl” on the memo line. You can also bring your Rice Bowl to the parish or the Faith Formation offices during office hours.
Pick up your family’s CRS Rice Bowl the weekend of March 1–2, or at the Ash Wednesday Masses on March 5. Return your bowl the weekend of April 26–27.
