We are really two groups.
The "Martha's Designers" group decorates the Church inside, while "Martha's Gardeners" make the outside church grounds beautiful and inviting.
You can belong to one or both of these groups.

What do we do?
Martha’s Designers is responsible for providing an environment in the Church and Chapel that will enhance the worship for all who enter during each liturgical season and special feasts. The seasons of the liturgical year are: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Ordinary Time and special feasts include Holy Days of Obligation.
The team meets twice a year to plan for the upcoming seasons and feasts. This includes setting a schedule for changing the Church and Chapel, discussing color, flowers, greenery, fabrics, banners, wreaths, pictures and statues that will bring the season or feast alive in the hearts of the faithful.
At the beginning of each liturgical season, the team, with the help of other volunteers, changes linens, flowers, and other decorations in the Church and Chapel. At Christmas and Easter this includes the Family Life Center where we celebrate overflow Masses.
Who is needed?
Anyone who is artistic and creative is encouraged to join the planning team. Anyone who sews, paints, works in arts and crafts, arranges flowers, does carpentry work or is a handyman is encouraged to volunteer to prepare for the coming seasons and feasts as well as help with the actual changing of the environment. This includes men!!! We have a number of occasions where ladder-climbing and nailing is a necessity.
When do we need volunteers the most?
Help is especially needed on the days right before Christmas and from Holy Thursday through Easter Vigil, the beginning of Advent and Lent. We try to begin at 9:00am and end no later than 1:00pm. Lunch is included on the days when we work longer.
What do we do?
We plant flowers, weed, and mulch, prune the Crape Myrtle trees and water flowers in the pots. We also fertilize the plants and keep them free of bugs and disease.
We also help maintenance clean the tree areas around the front parking lot.
We make our church grounds inviting and create a peaceful setting for parishioners and guests.
When do we meet?
We meet every second Thursday of the month at 9:00am on the church grounds. You might have to look for us, but usually we start in front of the church. Please mark your calendars.
We also meet on Saturdays three or four times a year. We usually meet in October, January, and March. October to clean the tree areas and mulch, January to cut bushes and Crape Myrtle trees, and March to plant flowers for spring. We will send you a letter announcing the date.
What do you need to bring?
You will need to bring gardening tools; such as rakes, hoes, and shovels. You will be contacted during the week if other items are needed.
I hope this information has been informative and that you will decide to join us.
